Project Overview

A family of movie enthusiasts was referred to Arc Light Entertainment to design and install a high-end theater during the build out of their unfinished basement. As the basement was well underway, Arc Light discussed options with the customer and quickly installed a THX pre-wire package. The client was presented with system options and chose a package based on Myryad and Canton to be installed shortly after construction was completed.

A ceiling-mounted high-definition LCD projector displays an 84" diagonal image on a 16:9 screen. The equipment is contained in a vertical equipment rack providing protection and cooling. A 7.1 Canton THX speaker system with dual subwoofers handles the 1000 watts plus of power provided by four Myryad MA series amplifiers. The Myryad MDP500 pre-amp processor performs the source routing and processing. Sources include DVD, S-VHS, FM tuner, CD, and high definition DSS. The system is controlled by a Crestron wireless color LCD touch panel and control system. Seven leather theater recliners were installed with four of the recliners on a riser providing optimum sight lines to the screen.
